Lakes in the PRC mountains are increasing due to climate change

The highest expansion rates are observed in the northern part of the plateau. This process is also fraught with the growth of greenhouse emissions and, at the same time, the aggravation of warming processes.

In total, there are about 60 thousand lakes on the plateau, their total area reaches about 50 thousand square kilometres.
